What makes letterpress wedding invitations so special and high quality?

Our letterpress wedding invitations, printed by skilled artists, have a delicate, tactile quality that makes the invitation feel like a work of art. Letterpress wedding invitations are made by pressing a plate into soft cotton paper. The pressure on the paper results in a crisp indentation that gives dimension to the design, and accentuates intricate details. The paper we use in creating our wedding invitations is a thick, 100% cotton fine art printing paper - it's the highest quality on the market, and softer than the commercial papers that are used for most other wedding invitations. These papers are used because they absorb the indentation of the plate and ink the best. The inks used in letterpress wedding invitations are saturated spot colors, meaning that each color is mixed and applied separately. Most digitally printed wedding invitations are created using a process similar to inkjet printing - the colors are a composite of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black which tends to result in muddier colors - you can also sometimes even see the individual pixels that make up the composite colors, which makes wedding invitations feel even more commercial.
