The Town Centre Audit

The Town Centre Audit is undertaken by Halifax Town Centre Forum in partnership with Calderdale Council and is funded through Action Halifax and Yorkshire Forward.

Purpose

Overall, the main purposes of this series of Audits are:

  • To provide Halifax Town Centre Management and the Town Centre Forum with the knowledge base on which to focus their work and identify priorities
  • To provide people and businesses aiming to establish businesses here with information they are likely to seek in better understanding the opportunities and conditions pertaining in Halifax town centre.

This Audit has two specific aims:

a. Measuring Change

The first purpose is to measure change across the indicators measured in the Baseline Audit. By doing so, it seeks to provide a fairly comprehensive picture of how the town centre has changed over the last 3 years, both objectively and in the view of the people who work in the town centre, run businesses, or visit for shopping, leisure and other purposes.

b. Identifying and Researching New Issues concerning the town centre

The Baseline Audit covered the key issues at the time, but changing circumstances and new Town Centre Management lead to new requirements for information, or need for more detailed information on certain topics.

If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the Audit please contact Halifax Town Centre Management on (01422) 360035. The Audit is available free to forum members and is priced at £70 for non members.

Alternatively, the Audit can be viewed in full at Town Centre Management and copies of individual pages can purchased at a cost of £1 per sheet.
